Right everyone, there has been a technical hitch on the website which means the artist info isn't on yet and the website we know was down last week, so thank you all for your patience those of you have told me about the problems - thank you, we are on to it. Family Mahone has about 20 tickets available as we speak, and other concerts are selling well (from our point of view) so check out the artists we have on their own web sites and we'll make sure you enjoy the concerts. Do let us know if you have any problems and we look forward to seeing you in just a few weeks time, with friends and faces you know and love and artists new for you to enjoy.

RIGHT, I am working hard to put this years' festival together and I know some of you have made contact with a view to finding out what's on and where, and how to buy tickets. Give Gadge our webchap a nudge and we should find info and details on how to buy tickets on this website as soon as he's got it up and running. Please be patient and we look forward to seeing you all.

Keep an eye out for what's happening with the boat festival this year, 'destination Middlewich' floating gardens, heritage boats. Craft stalls as always but more than before, festival ceilidh with Stömp and Pete Rees. Procession.... etc

So to answer a few questions!
Who's playing? JUNE TABOR, LAU, PEATBOG FAERIES, WARSAW VILLAGE BAND, CHURCHFITTERS, CHRIS AND KELLIE WHILE, ANTHONY JOHN CLARKE, ZOE MULFORD, RORY ELLIS, MARTIN SIMPSON, THE FAMILY MAHONE, NICK HARPER, NEIL BROPHY, JONATHAN KELLY, THE WEAVILS, THE MIDDLEWICH PADDIES, CALICO JACK, FULL HOUSE, BRAND NEW DAY, SHAKE THE BARLEY......and more!

Hi Chris, I don't want to cause a problem and would like your mum to come and enjoy the festival, so I will say that MOST venues have disabled access but you might do well to check before you come, if you click on any of the fringe venues, if they have a contact you could call them. The main marquee is flat and if you get in touch with us in the box office we can arrange side access if required. Lunch - well all the pubs will be very busy and I don't want to recommend one over another, but the Narrowboat is good - not sure about access, Kings Lock do nice food, there will be stalls with yummy food etc...

I am really pleased to answer these questions for you!

How big are the fringe events, is there a list anywhere of acts/groups attending
We have booked around 50 bands for the fringe, I am expecting that list to be put on the website today.

Are there any workshops Whistle, guitar, fiddle, meet the artist, more..... again schedule on website soon.

Tickets. Where is the box office and what time is it open until on the Friday. Have a look at the map, find the main marquee on civic way and the box office is there and should be open around 4pm Friday.

Parking: where is a good spot. Have a look at the map, there are several car parks a few minutes walk to main site. Try Somerfields but it does close through the night! THere are other designated parking areas.

Anyone have any tips for things to see/do. Far too much to put here!

Good luck!
Liz

Less than one month to go!
I am really getting excited. I am very disappointed though that I am not having lots of forum messages! Where are you all? Well I will tell you that Seth Lakeman tickets are selling really well, we may have a sell out but don't stop trying if you need a ticket get it soon. The family Mahone are likely to sell out as always, there are tickets left at the moment.
Close behind - the other concert tickets are going well and weekend tickets are still available. Do get in touch if you need to know any more about the artists who will be at MFAB this year. We are still working on the event guide and they will be hot off the press very soon!
Looking forward to seeing you all at MFAB again this year those who have been before, and to those of you just thinking about it. Go on give us a go!

I Know you are out there!!! Roll EyesI am really excited to anounce the Winter Warmer Weekend, so many great bands, so hard to choose, and I have to say a big thank you to those bands who offered their services free for the weekend, the money we make from YOUR TICKET sales will provide our first bit of budget to put towards the cost of workshops next year. And of course my promise to the bands who do take part is a slot on the mainstage next year. More to look forward to!
I also want to thank all the bands and artists who offered to take part, I could run a festival for a week I have so many bands to choose from! I do hope you understand!
Do start using this forum, it is a good way for us to keep in touch with you!

Welcome to our new website! I am having a play with things you can do on here! Try it is is fun! Laughing
It is really great to be back. I always enjoy keeping up with all our MFAB friends via the website forum.

I am already busy booking bands for 2007! Again this year, I am being chased by agents and bands, such a wealth of wonderful music and musicians to choose from. It is a brilliant job but hard work. The committee are plotting and planning as always, some have moved on (sadly) and will be missed. Talking of one Stephen Dent, Chairman and staunch festival ambassador of MFAB and very good friend. With a tear in his eye he left our last meeting to begin retirement (ha ha) and will be an Honorary something or other for the future, but more about that on our main news bit.

I am planning the Winter Warmer Festival 17th and 18th November and have a few bands for you to enjoy, again more details to follow in the next few days.

You know I always enjoy hearing about bands you have seen and enjoyed at other festivals throughout the year, do contact me and tell me who you like, who you recommend and of course who you don't!

If you are a band and want to make contact, then you can do that too.
Look forward to hearing your festival news and meeting some of you at events throughout the year.

My next gig - Elkie Brooks at Crewe on Wed night! Complimentary tickets as she went to school with my dad and we met up at a festival in the summer! What a beautiful and lovely lady not only a privilege to work with her on that day, but her performance stronger and more powerful in real life than you can imagine. Am I excited?! You BET!!
