LIZ LEAVES ON A HIGH NOTE

After one of the most successful Festivals in recent years – and one reckoned by many to be the best - Artistic Co-ordinator Liz Rosenfield has resigned from the committee After hinting strongly for some time, a couple of months before the event Liz said “I have been involved with this festival for over 8 years and have had an amazing 5 years as Festival Director involved with all aspects of running the festival, and finding bands for MFAB has been an amazing adventure. In spite of my love for doing it, the time has come to move on. There are things I want to do like spend time with my family, spend time in my garden and pretty important for me my job as a Learning Enhancement Teacher part-time at the Kings School, Macclesfield has just become permanent which is great news so I have a commitment to my special needs teaching there. And finally on the run up to my 50th you know what! I am now a singer with a band and I am assured by my friends that this is a career path I must follow. I shall be offering my resignation at the end of the festival weekend.” The committee would particularly like to express our appreciation for all her hard work over those eight years in helping to build the event into the success it now is, and also for her friendship and encouragement. We will all – committee, artists, visitors to the Festival – miss her and we wish her all the best for the future. And don’t think this means you’ll never see her again: her new band, The Lizettes, went down so well at this year’s Festival that we’ll have to think very hard about having her back as an artist. Rest assured – the show will go on; and we look forward to seeing you all next year for our 20th Anniversary.
